Overview:
This is a short backpacking trip from the Bear Valley Visitor Center to Coast Camp. This is an overnight trip that can be changed to several different ways back. This is a good short overnight trip. The first two miles is pretty steep up hill and the last four is mostly downhill. There isn't really a lot of flat trail.
Park in the dirt part of the Bear Valley parking lot and start down the Bear Valley Trail. Cars that are parked overnight are required to park in the dirt area. Permits for camping need to be picked up in the visitor center.
There are several campsites here to camp at. Sites will be given when the permit is picked up at the visitor center. It is close to the beach to go take a trip down for a swim or a walk on the beach.
