When you pull into the lot you will find he Bayview trailhead and the trailhead for the Sky trail on the opposite side of the lot. If you decide to take the downhill Bayview trail, it is mostly single track that is well maintained and downhill to Muddy Hollow trail where you can go left and past the Clem Miller Environmental Center that connects with the coastal trail or an alternate route is to go to the right down Muddy Hollow trail to the to the Limantour Spit where you can see sea lions basking in the sun at low tide.
You can choose to go back the same way or after passing the Point Reyes Hostel take the trail to the right, the Laguna Trail to the Sky trail back to the parking lot.
The wind was brisk at the beach but the rest of the hike was pleasant, traveling through old growth Spruce, Pine and some Redwoods, plenty of wildlife to view from Tule Elk
