Overview: This hike along the southern ridge of the Aliso and Wood Canyons Regional Park is fairly easy, with only a short moderate hill at the end. As you walk you'll find the park to your right and suburbs and homes to your left, so you don't really get an out in nature feel to the hike.

Pleanty of room for bikers, hikers, dog walkers and runners

At the end you get a really nice view of the ocean and Aliso Beach County Park.

Tips: The trailhead is located in Laguna Niguel (near Mission Viejo) at the intersection of Highlands Avenue and Ridgeview Drive. To get there from I-5 take exit 86 and head west on Crown Valley Parkway. After 3.3 miles turn right on Niguel Road. In one mile turn right on Highlands Ave. Ridgeview Dr is your first left in .2 miles.

Bring sunscreen and water there isn't any shade along the trail.

Be aware that there are rattle snakes in the area.

Approximately 3,900 acres of wilderness and natural open space land. Originally, part of the Juaneno or Acajchemem tribal land, it later was owned by Don Juan Avila, Louis Moulton, The Mission Viejo Company and now is under the jurisdiction of OC Parks. Within the park lands are mature oaks, sycamores, and elderberry trees, two year round streams and over 30 miles of official trails. Many rare and endangered plants and animals make this park their home. This park is designated as a wildlife sanctuary
