This is a lovely walk on the quieter west side of Lake Windermere. The route heads north through Heald wood then south back on the lakeside. The track uploaded was not actually the route planned as we had to turn back at one point due to a footpath being closed due to tree felling. It was still a great walk though.
A walk over Kinder Scout. Starting in Hayfield and walking the the bottom of Kinder Low Edge before following the old pack horse trail round to Edale Cross. Then up to Kinder Low Trig Point. Next stop and lunch was Kinder Downfall. Not a lot of water flowing over it today and no wind to make it the upfall. From here it was a walk along the Pennine Way before crossing to...
After a late night planning committee ............ I met RKEV = AKA = scubaclogger in Manchester and we headed out to Bramhall station and then up through Carrwood into Bramall Park. The weather was quite kind to us with only a few spots in the late afternoon. Most caches we did were in good condition and fairly easy to locate. A very pretty walk around the Hall Park then a bag of...
A walk along The Roaches and round and through Lud's Church.
A pleasant low level riverside walk along the River Esk. If you are lucky you could see some Greater Spotted Woodpeckers! If you are into Geocaching there are about 5 to get on this trip.
A walk up Kinder Scout. Going up Jacob's Ladder and across the edge passing the Wool Packs. Plan was to head over to ringing roger but we decided to head down via Grindlow Knoll.
A short trot over Blea Moor from Ribbleshead. Blowing a gale and lashing it down. In the words of Grufftymilo, it's ace.
The PlanTo view sun rise on Round Loaf. Note that this is different from previous "Winter Solstice" events. It usually has been the aim to view day break (i.e. Nautical Twilight). This time we are after the actual sun. The reason for this is that for the first time we are attempting to view day break on one hill and sun rise on another. All being well we will catch day break on Great Hill.
A lovely long afternoon with Kevin, AKA Scubaclogger, the weather just about held off, although it was very slippy underfoot after all the rain of late. Not too eventful overall, just a nice stroll, with a little puffing and panting now and again. Finished the day off with a pin n pint in Stalybridge.
Had a great day out with Stephen, AKA Grufftymilo, we took the lesser used north track up Hare Shaw and The Knight to the summit of Place Fell. Incredable winds, over 60mph, made it tough going, and both of us were blown over more than once. There was a 'masterplan' to continue to Angletarn Pikes, however, common sense prevailed, and our safety came first ... well ... almost .. The thought of...
I just back from a couple of weeks in America and also my dog lassie got
badly hurt and all in all I hadn't been out in the hills for a

wasn't to apprehensive about it,,I recently spent 250 quid at the

We; Kevin (Scubaclogger) and I, both wanted to revisit a place in our childhoods. We took the train to Greenfield Station and stared our wander and a gentle paced walk to the summit of Broad Hill, along over Kinder Stones, on to Sugar Loaf and Shaw Rocks, past Slade Rocks and Slade Pits to the trig point ; Sykes Pillar, on the summit of Broadstone Hill. We then bog hoped down the...

Her husband Tom has walked most of the coast line of England and is up for...
Starting at Seathwaite and walking to the Strecher Point at Sty Head before heading round to Sprinkling Tarn and over Esk Hause. Around the edge of the summit of Broad Crag before the final slog to the summit of Scafell Pike. The return route was via the corridor route.
I planned this trip for my niece who has recently returned from her studies in New York..She has climbed some high peaks in Nepal,Chile and Iceland and also on the Appalachian trail but she has never been in the lakes before...We parked up near Boot and immediately set off on the wrong track. After consulting the map we convinced ourselves that we were somewhere that we weren't and carried on regardless..Eventually Slightside...
