@was -- yep, we'll take as much of this El Nino snow as we can get. This most recent series was actually also quite cold for Tahoe standards...go figure.
Hopefully the dry spell ends up North for you soon. Where do you go for resort skiing up there? Mount Hood?
used to ski at Hood, but for the last few years have been going to Bachelor in Central Oregon. Higher alt and more eastern location = better snow and terrain.
Have you guys seen this trip: http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=473757. It's a couloir near Chamonix... Does Squaw have similar routes? Or should we go to Mt Tallac to find these types of couloirs?
It's plenty cold here at the Michigan whether survey station. Conditions have been cold, with decent snowfall. We're still waiting for some mountains to show up though. Changing contours might be expected during the next ice age. More to come...
I'm honored to be invited to join this impressive group. I guess that you felt that you might need some adult supervision. Skiing was surprisingly good when we left Squaw on Thursday once the fog had lifter. especially on KT. The forecaster storm for mid next week could be what we are waiting for and I plan to be there. Let me know if any of you can make it.
This trip I posted below was about 1 year ago... time to get myself back up there!!! Looks like there may be a good dump coming mid next week... Fingers crossed!
Well done Chris. Hope the leg is once again firmly attached. Quite a lot of skiing in the Lakes this year but most of it ski-mountaineering by individuals as we don't get enough consistent snow to make Cumbria a major winter sports resort. There are only two small seasonal ski tows.

I am starting this group to create a place to share our epic ski adventures on the slopes of Squaw Valley. Also, this group can be used to share plans, and exchange info on snow conditions.
