creating multitracks

Postby dcve on Mon Apr 18, 2011 12:01 pm

At this moment I'm hiking around stateborders. I finished almost 5 (1500km) now. I want to combine them in a tour. So the hiker can organize a holiday to make his tour. It will be more or less a super-guide with a long-distance path: State-path. My question is: can Every trail organize this. It means a multi-track application.

Yes, on the edit map page for a trip you can upload more gps files to the trip.

Thnx Chris, In that situation I would create a huge hiking trip, which will not give a proper overview on the LD-path.
May be is a solution: Create An overview trip, that connects the starting points of each trip. And Then: Make a list of links in the route desciption block. OR: Descripe the route in the description block and give the links in the Tip-bloc. However: It would be better to create a "guide Like" solution, with: set of hiking trips, public travelling, hotels etc. With this combination some cash can be generated. Bcse: a book is much much more work to create..... Option? Rgds, DC

Another option would be to write guides for each trail and then bundle them all together in a guide bundle. You can learn more about guides here: http://www.everytrail.com/guides

thnx Chris,
The Bundle option looks interesting. I can just copy-paste my notes (NB: it is in DUTCH. And that is fine for the 99,99% hikers here). Now I need TIME to do it.....

Right now we are only accepting guides that are in english (you can include dutch too, but please provide an english translation as well).

Creating multitracks in a guide is a bad option for me, bcse I need to reshape my texts in the descriptions/tips. So I tried to create a trip with multi (existing) tracks.
Let me describe:
1. Create trip, add existing track 1 to start with. OK
2. Now I want to add e second (exisiting) track. So I went in the edit mode of track one and tried to add another one by tick-marking one of my existing tracks. However, the system opens a NEW track and that is what I don't want.

If I start to create a trip and I tickmark more than one (existing)trip (in one move) then the multitracks will appear, but that will work for one page only. In addition the sequence is not guarenteed ( I want to make AB - BC -CD and not AB CD BC)

How can I solve this?
