Elevation profile

Postby gifro10 on Mon Apr 07, 2008 1:46 pm

Problems with the elevation profile...

I upload gpx files the same every time, check the box to include elevation profile, and I've only had 1 of 4 elevation profiles show up... any thoughts?
I always check and save my data in MapSource first as a GPX before uploading to ensure no other data is part of the GPX file other than the waypoints and tracks from that particular day.

This is the only one I've had the profile show up in

An example of it not showing up

Does the uploader client fix any of this?

Thanks

Hi,
Currently elevation profiles are only created if you go through the "edit map" page.

To get the elevation profile, go to your trip while you're logged in, click on edit map, and then continue to save your map again. An elevation profile will be created.

We realize this process is not ideal.... it was introduced when we streamlined the create trip process (for the 200th time :) ), and we will again optimize the process to make the creation of elevation profiles more transparent to users.

Thanks for all the feedback. Pls keep it coming.
