Live Update

I have recently downloaded the iPhone version of EveryTrail and desperately need the ability to push live updates to the web site. When I go on motorcycle rides my wife likes to know I am still moving, which means I am alive! There are a few other apps that offer this functionality, but I like your product best.

In order for me to continue using EveryTrail, I really need this functionlaity. Is this something we will see in the product soon? BTW, I would want to be able to update every minute, 5 or 10 is too big an interval in my opinion.

Mike, yes we are planning to add live updates to the app, but we have a few other things like topo maps and downloadable maps that we are working on first.

Thanks Chris for the reply. I understand feature priorities are tough to balance, I do the same for the software my team builds. Do you have a ETA for when Live Updates will be available? This is the only feature stopping me from switching over from a competitor!

I can't really give you a good ETA, I can tell you that we are currently adding Guides to the phone and are working hard on this to ensure that the experience is as good as possible. After that is released, live updates will likely be at the top of the list.

I have exactly the same wish as Mike. Live updates to the web. Tracking the trail is already fantastic and you have a great app, but I need live updates posted. Choices can then be on-demand, every 5 min, 10 min etc.

Additionally, it would be very fun to see on EveryTrail website all public and Live trackers moving live on the screen

The live tracking could be a SAFETY feature to any lonely MTB rider! If we suffer an accident the live tracking could be precious!

I would find that the live tracking would be a amazing feature, Many people can connect with us that normally would not be able to join us while we are off hiking, trail running, ext. As jpaulo also mentioned this also would be a great safety feature to some of us solo adventure seekers.

Every Trail once this feature is added, it would make your online and mobile application a MUST HAVE for anyone who steps outside. Such amazing features that are already in used plus a way to connect the unable to there loved ones is a priceless necessity.

I can not wait to see where you will take us.

You make it sound like you want to trust your lives to spotty at times 3G and cellular connections unless you are not actually "adventuring" very far.
SPOT works on satellite... much more reliable in the REAL boonies
