Guides and GPX files

I can download gpx files from trips. This is useful for uploading to Garmin GPS unit, which is more practical for mountains (batteries, SW etc) than smart phones.
But I cannot find a way how to download gpx from a guide. It seems to me that if I create a guide I also have to create a trip and insert a trip reference to the guide. This is rather complicated. Thanks.

At this time guides are only available through our mobile devices, but we are planning on allowing for GPX downloads as well. Unfortunately, there is not a good way to display all of the text for each POI, or the pictures, which are both large parts of the guide.

Why can we not dowload KMLs or KMZs of guides?
