trips in Google Earth?

I first came across ET in Google Earth Gallery. It shows only a couple of trips near a place I had been hiking. But when I look at the same area on the ET site, there are about 20. What determines if a trip will be shown on Google Earth?

It's based on the number of pictures, length, and votes. The live sync has been down for some time but we hope to get it back up.
