We've added a feature that addresses some of the suggestions mentioned in this thread:

For private trips you can now generate a link that makes it accessible to people you choose to share that trip with. Just click the "email this trip to friends" link and the email will contain a link with a code that makes the private trip accessible to others.

Thank you; just one hiccup here, when I use that link (I log out to test it) and click on View Fullscreen it won't let me and says "this trip is private"; if the code is being used, then one should be able to view it full screen but the code is not used in the link "view fulscreen".

I think this change would be easy to implement.

UPDATE-Nevermind, this seems to be working now, not sure if something needed to be processed on the server side; works fine now.

Despite a trip being marked Private, and including a lock on edit, I have just received an email telling me a person ... has favorited your EveryTrail trip. How does that work ?? jm

Why photos from private trips were made public?

Is there a way to switch between public and private for a trip?

Hi there,

It would be nice if there was a quick way to toggle between Public and private trails. I added some trails as 'private' until I am satisfied to release them to 'public'. There seems to be no easy way to toggle the status, besided going into the edit description page, remove the private status and save the trip again.

Compliments to the chef that cooked up the semi-private....works great. Simple solution.
