I think it would be a tremendous improvement if it were easier to change the order of photos in the slideshows. It wasn't at all obvious to me how the photos were being sorted, and I absolutely hated the order they were placed in. I had to search & search to figure out how they were being sorted and how to change that.
The order is based on the timestamps of the photos. If you want to change the timestamps, you can do so by clicking on the "pictures in this trip" link on the trip page, and selecting the picture, then going to the edit page for that picture.
I added a video after all the photos, but it's showing up first. I changed it's location on the map and it shows on the map at the end of my trail, but when the slideshow starts it starts with the video.
