Hi, EveryTrail users and devs!
I had a chance to try out the EveryTrail iPhone application for the first time this weekend and was extremely impressed. I used it for a lovely hike from the Palomarin trailhead to Alamare falls near Bolinas, CA. The execution was flawless!
I do have one suggestion for improving your app, though. It would be awesome if there was some way to email or SMS a summary of the hike you intend to take to a friend or relative? That way, at least one other person will know that you've decided to go hiking and have as much information as possible to find you in case of an emergency.
Relevant information could include:
- Name of hiker
- Name and location of trailhead (GPS coordinates, street address, etc.)
- Expected start time of hike
- Expected duration of hike
- Expected route
- Contact information for nearest EMS/Ranger Station
