Postby Laser303 on Sat Mar 05, 2011 1:05 pm

Hi all

I have done a search only one found for itouch

Have bee looking at Bluetooth GPS Receiver for Ipod touch on ebay they all seem to list channels.
Buying cheap does this mean signal going to keep droping out ?
I'm looking to use riding bike in woods and XC

Also what should the receiver have to work with my Ipod touch?

Thanks

I don't know which Touch you have, but your choices are limited. I think the only BT GPS that works with the iPod Touch without jailbreaking is the TomTom cradle, and it's for use in a car (or maybe the motorcycle, if that's the bike you're talking about).

If you jailbreak your iPod and add BTStack GPS or RoqyBT then there are all kinds of BT devices you can use. Then you have to add an app like Gaia GPS (which uploads easily to EveryTrail). It's pretty easy to do, and GreenPois0n will jailbreak 4.2.1 without tethering.

Hey Laser,

Why don't you just use an Iphone, wrapping it around your arm - I'm sure you can get any app for free, and then use it anywere - in the car, bike or abroad ? You're looking for a device, that'll connect to your Ipod, and it's just making it all too complex, I think. Keep it all-in-one, that's my advice.

Alex.
