Trouble with GPX files

Postby LVHiker on Thu Aug 16, 2012 1:42 pm

When I download the GPX files on my Mac and then try to open them in Garmin's BaseCamp, I get an invalid file message or a cannot import message. I cannot get a correct track even for some of my own trips. Is this a Garmin issue?

Edit: Let me add that I had two friends with PCs attempt to download some GPX tracks. They are not getting valid formats either. The only way the one can get a GPX track is to download the KML file, unzip it, and then transfer it to a GPX file. What's wrong with GPX files on EveryTrail?

The GPX files are valid, but it appears that Garmin's app is more strict that the GPX specifications. Please send me your file and I'll take a look at it: chris@everytrail.com
