images shown out of order

Postby webstertrails on Mon Apr 16, 2012 6:18 pm

I geotagged my photos and uploaded them to a picasa album.
I created a new trip on EveryTrail, then added my picasa album images.

The images are located on the map, in the right locations, but the "slideshow" is all out of order.
It doesn't show the images in the order they were taken.

I also have a kmz file all ready to go with gps track and images pointing to my geotagged picasa images. But when I uploaded that none of the images showed up, just little rectangles where photos should go. It opens in Google Earth fine (it was saved from there).

I would have preferred if that upload had just worked.

Any ideas?

I'm having this problem as well. The slide show begins with an image that is not at the beginning of our walk. Then bounces back to beginning images. I have been working with this for about 6 hours, and am really getting frusterated with this program. Anyone figure out a fix for this bug?

I did find this description in "Help" of two ways to re-order photos as they will appear in the slide show except
1. I can't find a "my photos" page from my profile and
2. I'm not sure what they mean by the picture detail page for any picture (I am logged in but don't see anything that has to do with editing the time the photo was taken):

Anyone understand the instructions below?
***
How can I reorder my pictures
We show the pictures in the order they were taken, so that they are shown in a natural order when viewing the slideshow. If the timestamps are off (or you used multiple cameras) you can reorder the photos by changing the timestamps of the pictures. To do this, go to your “My Photos” page, found from your profile, or from the picture detail page for any picture (you should see an edit link if you are logged in). Change the time of the picture, and the sequence will change.

Thanks for any help, sarah

Hi,

This is due to Picasa 3.9 stripping EXIF data from photos when uploading to Picasaweb. If you look at the 'Full Details' information for a photo uploaded with Picasa 3.9 you'll see that most EXIF data, including the Date and Time, is missing. The only workaround I found was to use the Picasaweb online uploader to upload photos.

The problem is supposed to be fixed now. See this thread: http://productforums.google.com/forum/# ... Hk1JMAQF0E

You will need to remove the photos from your trip and re-upload them (now that the Picasa bug is fixed), and then re-add them to your trip.

I finally got back to investigating my problem with this. For me I don't think the problem was Picasa stripping exif data from my images.
The problem was I ran my images through a program to resize them (irfanview) and mistakenly had IT strip the exif data.
Whoops!

I created a new Picasa album and used those images. It works well now.
