pourqoi ce nouveau format ?

Postby jpbcmi77 on Sat Nov 07, 2009 2:20 am

Bonjour,

Cordialement

Re: What happened to the speed and elevation graphs???????????

Postby hmarstra on Sat Nov 07, 2009 3:52 am

Please, please give us the option to use the old format!!!!!!
Nice to have the elevation-graph over the whole screen but thats the only good thing
Problems
1) The elevation graph only shows distance. The elevation data is not present on the left or right side of the graph
2) The play function doesnt work
3) You cant move the mouse over the elevation graph like before, to see the blue position marker move trough the tracks. This enables detailed overview of dramatic elevation changes

4) When you put together a trip from various tracks in "my-tracks" you have also no way of knowing the order of the tracks or the direction of the tracks when you look at the elevation graph as long as you are not anymore able to "scrub" over the graph with the mouse to identify the various parts on the map

Re: pourquoi ce nouveau format

HI Chris/All,

Just to echo the above sentiments, is it possible to obtain the old format, both with the bar on the right of the page and with speed graphed? (at the moment, speed is just a line along the bottom of the elevation/distance graph) As well as the elevation profile, the speed profile vs position was useful as I run a local Duke of Edinburgh group, where this sort of information is useful to them.

THanks in advance for any assistance that may be provided.

Hello,

For me, videographer, the new format does not suit me at all: the thing that was most interesting on your site was the video image obtained from the path of my journey to the screen (stats + play): I could capture that it and insert it in my films. Why remove this possibility: what a pity.

I agree with all things below and want to add following:

1. I have to change settings with every map: meters and satellite view.
2. New profile shows almost nothing
3. Play the track was nice . Wanted to use that for the kids as preperation for a trip.

Please bring banck the old format or let it be my choice by settings which are stored.

Zoom:
Also the zoom level is much further away (on national level) than what the trip was saved as (this was also different in the older format

New Version released Nov 6, 2009

Postby Leighton on Sat Nov 07, 2009 9:18 am

Last night I noticed you rolled out a new version with a bigger map with photos that pop out of the map. I like the direction but do miss a couple of features that may be there but I just haven't found them yet. How to view the original picture comes to mind. I still can't figure out how to do that.

I also noticed that the map for trips defaults to the terrain map even though another map like Hybrid or Satellite was the map originally selected and saved for the trip. The terrain map is fine for longer trips, but if you have a short one, the map is displayed as a blank white page scattered with text stating "We are sorry, but we don't have maps at this zoom level....." Of course you can zoom out or change the map type when viewing the trip, but for the initial presentation's sake, it would be nice to again have the option to save the map type for each trip so that it would be displayed when the trip is selected.

Thanks and keep up the good work!
