Vote for own trip...how come?

Why is it possible to vote for your own trip, when responding to a posted comment?
Cheers,
Jim

The votes are used as a signal for the search and browse pages. If you upload a trip that is beneficial for other users to follow, please vote on it, the more votes we get total, the more information we have when determining the best order to display the trips.

But still this feels as quite a strange thing to do....
Moreover, if everytime I create a trip that would be helpfull to others, I vote on it myself, it says so on my profile... So all the family and friends I might want to share my new trip with will see ... voted on his own trip on my profile.

Just add an option "could be helpfull to others"/"just for my personal use/log"
