I echo ashevillemike's concerns.
For me, there are several huge problems:
1. For trips having lots of photos, photos pop up and the shrink automatically. It makes it impossible to appreciate the GPS track at all. Showing, archiving, searching, download GPX / KML in Everytrail's members database make this site unique and useful.
2. The previous trip stat box was placed side-by-side with the main GPS track. Pressing the play button showed a trip process with reference to elevation. Placing the mouse pointer to any point of the track / elevation curve gave valuable about the altitude of the route. Nil found in the new format.
3. People is now having larger and larger screen turf. 1920x1080 is becoming common place. "Viewing full screen" button scale the terrain to the extent that the map generator cannot provide such scale for the place.
I admire the team's effort to upgrade the look of the board. However, please do not put too much eye-candy thing on the core business of the Board - Viewing and sharing the TRAIL.
Thanks very much.
