Yosemite National Park Back-country Skiing Trips
We started at Badger Pass ski area, traveled along Glacier Point Road a ways before turning north on trail 18 towards Dewey Point. No camping is allowed at Dewey Point so we veered slightly west towards Crocker Point. On the second day we made a side trip to Stanford Point and Dewey Point.
We had a nice climb on Snow Creek Trail.
This route starts at the park’s South entrance and follows the Mariposa grove road to the lower and upper groves of giant sequoias and on to the Wawona Point Vista. A mix of road and trails are used to cover the entire Mariposa grove. It’s recommended to ski the upper grove counter clockwise since it’s less steep on the South and East legs. For more details visit:http://www.explorepangea.com/Activity/BackcountrySkiing/MariposaGrove.html
