My brother Gordon and I did the River Look trail today. This was very beautiful and we saw 3 large black snakes, a very large female wild turkey, and several white tail deer. Your River State Park is one of my favorite parks in the Mid Atlantic Region. I use it primarily for mountain biking but it is also great for scenic views of the York River and for a great walk along the beach there. The beach is not a great swimming beach in my opinion, but more interesting for the fossils which are all over the beach and which are in the high cliffs. There is also a great area to rent a kayak with easy access to the York River.
