This trail head starts at the same
place as the Finger rock trail head. Where those trails intersect you
will stay to the right. You will cross water on several occasions.
There are stepping stones in place to facilitate your crossing. We
enjoyed great views of Tucson valley, Finger rock and other ridges in
the Catalinas. The rock formations are quite varied in colors and
composition. Considerable amounts of mica and quartz gave...
Our weekend hike with the kids to Seven Falls in Sabino Canyon.
This Trail Begins at the end of Camino del Cerro. It is a low level hike so can be very hot and with little shade. This day would have been to warm but we were having an unseasonably cool weekend so I decided to go because of the Saguaro and prickley pear were in bloom. It was not disappointing. The trail is rather rocky and is a workout for the knees and...
This is a hike starting at the Sabino Canyon Visitor Center. Most of the trail is on the east side of the canyon. The trail was well maintained. It only became somewhat overgrown after the northern most waypoint. Expect lots of crowds near the trailhead on weekends. Further along the trail, I passed other hikers approximately every 30 minutes. Although there was 2000 feet gain in elevation, most of this gain was...
Hike from the Finger Rock trailhead. Has a great view of most of Tucson, and a mine underneath... will return with flashlights.
We parked in a subdivision. With a fuzzy idea of what trails we should take, we did a lot of bushwhacking on the way up, but on the way down we were able to walk on trails. We didn't rock climb to the very top, but we were within a few hundred feet. It's a very short and steep hike.

This trip began as a game: My hubby went hiking yesterday, did not tell me where he was going, and when he returned, he gave me three sets of coordinates: "trailhead", "something" and "turnaround point". The rest was up to me. I entered the points on google maps in order to figure out where the trailhead was. Then I entered the way points into my gps manually. I used this in determine...
Trail starts at Babad Doag Vista parking area about 6 miles up Mt. Lemmon road. Park and cross the highway to the trailhead. This hike is about an hour up and 45 to an hour back down, but good elevation gain makes it a good workout. It was 96 degrees when I did it in October before noon. Hot.
Went on a hike with some friend. Very easy hike. Water was flowing so there were some tricky river crossings but very little elevation change. Great hike. Bring lots of water during the summer.
