Local training loop, including a 700m climb to the peak of Mt. Vassfjellet, with an average climb rate of 8,5%. Tarmac on transport, gravel on the Vassfjellet climb. Additional information on Mt. Vassfjellet: The tough riders go back down on the north side of Vassfjellet using the small mountain tracks above the Alpine Centre. This is one of the greatest off piste bike decents in Norway (at least in urban areas) with a 5-600m...

One of my favourite local training loops. The first half is tarmac, and the second part (the climb up behind Gråkallen) is gravel road and bike paths.

Ila - Skistua - test run

Ila -> Skistua is by many local bike riders reconed as the ultimate test route to check training and fitness progress. 420 meter climb in 7,8 kilometers, represents an 5,5% average climb with no real flats underway. For the really tough riders, preferably on MTB, the final climb to Mt Gråkallen is a great topping in the end. Have fun.

When I was in Trondheim I visited Nidaros Cathedral and the Old Town Bridge of Trondheim. I was really impressed by the cathedral and the view from the bridge is spectacular, indeed. These were the places I liked best. But honestly speaking, the hole city is fantastic and worth visiting. As far as camping sites are concerned, I recommend the second camping on the way from the airport to the city.
