Australia’s Last Riverboat Postman Trips: Postman, All-day and Coffee cruises with Hawkesbury River Ferries: Brooklyn Wharf (+61 2 9985 7566) . Note well -- if you take the train rather than the ferry boat you MUST advise the driver that you wish to alight at Wondabyne -- this is NOT a stopping station!  Read the book or watch the video.

It was a wonderful ride, with a crew that welcomed tourists like me, recommending that I sit on the left side of the boat to get the best pictures.

Careful on the green rocks -- they are usually slippery.  There are also leeches around this area, especially after heavy rain -- read the book for more advice.

From the Woy Woy Road walk through the bush (the trail is not very easy to follow) by moving along the series of rock ledges. This leads to the very edge of the outcrop with a fantastic vista over Woy Woy and the surrounding ocean. Near this furthest edge are some of the best carvings. Read more about Aboriginal history in The Great North Walk Companion book or watch the video.

Take the side trip to visit Quarter Sessions Campsite: (33° 41′ 59″S, 151° 4′ 36″E) this is where an Aboriginal meeting and camping place once was. Many carvings have been lost in European times but a few still remain here including two wallabies, some fish, other lines that have been described as a noose and a koala. There is a notice at the NW corner of Quarter Sessions Road, Westleigh on the loop of the road, next to the rocks. About 200 m from the Great North Walk at Westleigh. [Chapter 17].  Watch the movie
