When you're tired of sitting on a bus and touring Southern Zion, drive North on I-15 to the Kolob Canyon portion of Zion. Check-in at the ranger station to get a permit to hike the backcountry. The first 7 miles are a moderately difficult hike. The last half to three-quarters mile is strenuous.
Great hike but very long and muddy. 23 river crossing! Well marked trail in till you in the last half mile to arch view!
