The Friends of Tierrasanta Canyons improves and maintains hiking trails in just part of the 800 acres of Tierrasanta Open Space. The are many types of wildflowers and shrubs. Amoung them are California Sunflower & California poppy, wild hyacinth, dudleya, barrel cactus, jumping cholla cactus, monkey flower, deer weed, dudleya, lupine, rattleweed, phacelia, blue-eyed grass, dunn mariposa, lemonade berry, laruel sumac and some very large coastal live oaks.
