This was an exploration of Farley heath and Blackheath. I planned a route but when I got there I wandered off the route where it looked interesting. A really good walk. Photos were from my Canon A3100IS and my HTC desire phone.
Time to do some of the North Downs Way. One of the best walks I have done recently. The North Downs way was good alternating woodland and open downland and the pill boxes added some historical interest to the section. The theme of the return part of the walk was woodland. First old woodland (I would guess some of the oaks were 50 - 100 years old) followed by a beech wood,...
One of my 'walks along the Tillingbourne valley'. This is an excellent walk. It starts on Blackheath, goes down to Chilworth and the Gunpowder mills on the Tillingbourne, then continues along the river to Albury. From there it climbs towards Blackheath via a valley with bullrushes. Finally it returns to Blackheath.
A walk I had been planning to do, then I discovered my Ramblers group were walking it, so I had the pleasure of the walk and the company of fellow walkers.
I went for a wander around Leith Hill, looking for interesting paths for a Ramblers walk. Discovered some really nice tracks. Weather was bright but breezy.
A walk with the Ramblers in an area I had not walked before.
A favourite walk. The outbound section along the GW passes through some lovely woodland.A modest climb up and then the route returns along an old drove trail. I used this a the basis to lead my first Ramblers walk. For this we extended the return to Leith Hill. (Photos added after the walk)
