We took the 10 o'clock departure from Antonito. The train runs on the former San Juan Extension of the Rio Grande Western Railroad to Chama. Our train met the Chama to Antonito train at Osier where we were served lunch. After changing trains we rode on to Chama.

Long drive to trailhead on gravel road, but well worth it. Take the lower trail when you reach the lake. The is major tree fall on the upper trail.
