This trail has a hidden unmarked start from the picnic area behind Pinole valley dog park. It is a nice shaded and moderately steep 1 mile to the back of Sobrante ridge.
Great views if Pinole, Hercules, the bay and El Sobrante.

Once you reach Sobrante ridge there are multiple paths you can take to extend your hike with great undeveloped views.
Parking from Pinole valley, no entrance fees.
