Snowdonia (Welsh: Eryri) is a region in north Wales and a national park of 838 square miles (2,170 km2) in area. It was the first to be designated of the three National Parks in Wales, in 1951.Many of the hikers in the area concentrate on Snowdon itself. It is regarded as a fine mountain, but can become quite crowded, particularly with the Snowdon Mountain Railway running to the summit.[8]
The other high mountains with their boulder-strewn summits—as well as Tryfan,
one of the few mountains in the UK south of Scotland whose ascent needs
hands as well as feet—are also very popular. However, there are also
some spectacular walks in Snowdonia on the lower mountains, and they
tend to be relatively unfrequented. Among hikers' favourites are Y Garn (east of Llanberis) along the ridge to Elidir Fawr; Mynydd Tal-y-Mignedd (west of Snowdon) along the Nantlle Ridge to Mynydd Drws-y-Coed; Moelwyn Mawr (west of Blaenau Ffestiniog); and Pen Llithrig y Wrach north of Capel Curig. Further south are Y Llethr in the Rhinogydd, and Cadair Idris near Dolgellau.
The Park has 1,479 miles (2,380 km) of public footpaths, 164 miles (264 km) of public bridleways, and 46 miles (74 km) of other public rights of way.[9] A large part of the Park is also covered by Right to Roam laws.

Fantastic walk up the Miners Path, up onto Snowdon where we were greeted with the Extreme Celloists and a rendition of "Climb Every Mountain!" Return route the wrong way along Crib Goch - hairy!
A steady climb to the summit via the Miners' Track with a demanding return journey over Crib y Ddysgi and Crib Goch.
On a very cold December morning a quick spin around the beast, inlcluding the 'closed' top section. This is an epic ride, and although my computer only logged 24miles it was probably the toughest XC ride I have ever done. The GPS logged 1100m of ascent, not sure if this is accurate though, the trail map indicated 710m.
Go well provisioned for this ride, I found I needed lots of fuel to keep...
This was the start of a 3 day walk unfortunatly after the first day the weather turned nasty, but our day on Snowdon was fantastic. We parked the car on the Royal Victoria Hotel car park (£5 for 3 days) the car park is just across from the Llanberis Mountain Railway. OK we cheated a little as by the time we got to Llanberis it was in the late afternoon so we took...

Two grade one scramble routes over Tryfan's East Face, onto Adam and Eve, down the South Ridge and across to the foot of the North Face of Glyder Fach. The climb up a scramble route in the Ciccerone guide was fantastic. Well worth the knackered legs. All on http://blogs.liverpoolecho.co.uk/aintnomountainhighenough/
