Fantastic walk up the Miners Path, up onto Snowdon where we were greeted with the Extreme Celloists and a rendition of "Climb Every Mountain!"  Return route the wrong way along Crib Goch - hairy!

Coed-Y-Brenin - 'The Beast'

21 miles
On a very cold December morning a quick spin around the beast, inlcluding the 'closed' top section. This is an epic ride, and although my computer only logged 24miles it was probably the toughest XC ride I have ever done. The GPS logged 1100m of ascent, not sure if this is accurate though, the trail map indicated 710m. Go well provisioned for this ride, I found I needed lots of fuel to keep...

This was the start of a 3 day walk unfortunatly after the first day the weather turned nasty, but our day on Snowdon was fantastic. We parked the car on the Royal Victoria Hotel car park (£5 for 3 days) the car park is just across from the Llanberis Mountain Railway. OK we cheated a little as by the time we got to Llanberis it was in the late afternoon so we took...

Tryfan's East Face and Glyder Fach's North Face - scramble routes
by richdown3rd on Jul 08, 2010
Capel-Curig, Wales, United Kingdom
4.0 miles
Two grade one scramble routes over Tryfan's East Face, onto Adam and Eve, down the South Ridge and across to the foot of the North Face of Glyder Fach. The climb up a scramble route in the Ciccerone guide was fantastic. Well worth the knackered legs. All on http://blogs.liverpoolecho.co.uk/aintnomountainhighenough/

We have a great time in Snowdonia, but it really depends on the weather. If it is sunny, it is the best place to visit, but in rainy days, stay in some warm a dry cottage.

We were lucky with the weather, Snowden on a clear day is a must, every one we met including the staff of the Snowden summit cafe were very friendly and pleasant. The train seemed expensive but it was fully booked so we walked to the top and had a very enjoyable day.

very direct ascent (some scrambling/climbing required), track along the pinnacles (must have a head for heights) and then onto the summit. Fairly quick decent also.
