Slanské Hills the mountain volcanic Eastern origin Slovakia. The highest peak is Šimonka (1 092 m n.m.) Mountains are situated in the eastern part of Slovak republic. They begin south of Prešov and stretch towards the south up to the border with Hungary. The Volcanic mountains of Slanské vrchy are part of the Carpathians – a volcanic semicircle. Mountains are mostly covered by broadleaf forests. Slanské vrchy cannot compete with the more attractive and famous Slovakian mountains, but even there you can find fantastic places which are easy on the eye [www.slanske.webzdarma.cz].
