West Clear Creek is a creek that, considering the desert setting, retains its flow surprisingly well due to the large Mogellon Rim catchment area. It waters floww, unusually clear from the Rim to meet the Verde River in the Verde Valley (See: Verde River []). The hike down provides you with some great photo opportunities that only seem to get better the further you go. At the bottom the springs seems to be all around us and the amount of water going over the dam was truly remarkable. Deer coming down to the water to eat and drink provided us with some great photos.
Beautiful hike off the Mogollon Rim down to the Pine Trailhed where it meets the Arizona Trail and the Highline trail.
