Hike begins and ends at Camp Tranquility in Oak Mountain State Park.
This is an Out & Back trip with short loop at the end. The out and back portion is on a maintained trail over a steady slope. The loop portion (down to the base of the falls and back up over the top) is considerably more steep and treacherous. The falls are about 20 feet high and flow varies vastly from a trickle to vigorous depending on recent rainfall - very picturesque. Other...
Mason and I took Aubie to Oak Mountain State Park to do some hiking. This trail starts in the parking lot near the lake and goes up and over the mountain to Peavine Falls. This is the green trail.Mason did really great on this hike which had a lot of elevation change. Even Aubie was tuckered out after this one.
Aubie and I went for a hiking loop with a swim in the middle.
