This was a phenomenal bike ride up the eastern sides of Mt. St. Helens to the Plains of Abraham with EraSeek.  The weather started out with low clouds but they soon burned off and we were treated to spectacular views of four volcanoes - Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, Mt. Hood, and of course Mt. St. Helens.

This is a steep trek up to the Plains of Abraham on the east flank of Mt St Helens, taking you along the Ape Cayon trail and the Muddy River lahar flow. If you wish to experience some of the other-worldy landscapes of a post volcanic explosive event, this is prime territory.

The trip started as all do at the Lone Fir Resort the night prior to hiking to pick up the permits for 14 climbers, most of whom were in for a hike we wouldn't soon forget. The weather  forecast was questionable, we decided to go ahead and attempt an early morning start of 4:30 am on the 25th starting at the climbers bivouc. This turned into 5:30am. It was still a good...

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens, we attempted a climb but we turned back at 6,800 ft. due to poor weather and zero visibility.

White out conditions at the top made for an anticlimatic trip.
Took the winter route due to the snow conditions for this year. Lots of late winter early spring snow prevented the Bivouak from opening until later in the year.
