Monterey Bay Road Biking Trips
What wonderful weather for a bike ride! Cloudless sky, no fog, warm sun, brilliant light. Our ride started at the Holiday Inn where we spent Friday night (to avoid having to get up so VERY early and drive down.) The Google Map Bicycle Directions pointed us accurately to the bike path, uncongested at 9 am. We pedaled past Wharf 2 and Breakwater and Lover's Point, where we did many scuba dives over...

Some guy asked me for our Monterey Bay logged file via E Mail and this got us wanting to do a longer ride down there on Memorial Day 2010. Left the House at 9AM, great drive down 101 from Silicon Valley. The hills already brown and it rained the last 2 weeks. Back home by 5:30PM. Heavy traffic on 156 & 101 when we headed home. Everyone was out enjoying the nice day. I hear...
This was a Great Day Trip Bike Ride. Extrtemely nice and was worth the 88 Mile Drive there. Heck it was a cloudy day and still we had a blast. Just for their effort, We even had two guys jogging along with us at 9.8MPH. These guys where sure in shape. They stayed with us for at least 2+ miles. I also have to thank the drivers in this area. They sure respect...
Well, since I usually work at home, I had to go out to "bike to work". I took the camera along so I could get some photography in.

Point Lobos Park is long familiar to us from scuba diving from Whaler's Cove. Today was our first bike ride there. It is a pleasant little ride, with stunning views of Monterey Bay. There are information centers, with marine mammal pelts to touch, and rangers to take people on guided walks. They provide a place to lock the bikes up if you want to do a walk on the dirt path.
25 Miler #2.Used the same route as a previous Troop ride. Went further than the Burger King, to the end of the trail. Had to go off the trail for a bit to get the mileage requirements met.Small up hills and downhills near freeway ramps, otherwise pretty flat. Strong head wind on the way back.
