First day of skiing at Laurel Mt. trails. Started / finished at the Warming Hut. Very cold day, 16-18F, very windy, flurries. 4-12" snow. Thin on the rocky S and SW facing trails. Some road skiing to connect trails which sucked.
Second day of skiing the trails at Laurel Mountain. Today I started at the parking lot further south on Summit Road. It was about 20F all afternoon but not as windy with frequent snow flurries. There was about 3" of powder on top of a variable base from 2" to a foot. Had to make a track so I did an out and back instead of a loop. Like yesterday, the rocky...
Meetup hike; 17 persons attended; beautiful blue-sky weather; warm, hi in Pittsburgh was 86 degrees; probably around 80 degrees on mountain.
