Joaquin Miller is a neighborhood park. Yes it has redwoods and magical spots tucked away in the hidden corners, but it is a city park. I'm not knociking it, it is a beautiful place with endless trail combinations (official & unofficial) to complete many loops. With a few visits, you can probably explore the whole park and decide on your favorite spots/loops. Soil compaction is a problem throughout the park's redwood forests, but it appears the state of anarchy exists with everyone just going off-trail everywhere.
Here's a link to the best map I've found.

Many trails in JM open to bikes, and some are sesonally closed to everyone. Oh, and try parking in high-traffic area if you know what I mean.
Added bonus: You can also visit EBRPD's Roberts which is adjacent across Skyline Blvd. It has the greatest redwooded-picnic areas in the EB.
