It was a rainy day on the volcano. Â Unfortunately, some portions of the park are closed due to large amounts of Sulfur Dioxide emissions. Â Walking along the bottom of a volcanic crater was incredible.

Keauhou is located on the southern seacoast of Hawai`i Volcanoes
National Park and is one of the favored destinations of hearty
wilderness hikers. The campsite is 6.8 miles from the closest trailhead.
The hike to Keauhou can be a grueling, hot hike through predominately
non-native grasses to a small rocky bay where cold fresh water seeps to
the surface and mixes with the ocean.

This is a moderate 4-mile hike located with the Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park. Â You start out hiking along the ridge of the crater. Â About half-way through, you have descended all the way down into the crater, where you can still see gas and smoke escaping.
Built in 1931, Hale Ohia is comprised of a main residence,
guest cottages, gardener's cottage and numerous support structures.
Nestled in a botanical garden setting the complex affords guests a
unique view of Hawaii's past.
