This was our third ascent up to Mount Leconte, and this was our second time doing it via Alums Cave. If you are on the NC side, stop at Peter's Pancakes & Waffles for the backpackers pancakes! Start the trail going towards Charlies Bunion unless you want a LONG hike up via Dry Sluice Gap. The hike from Kephart to the AT was not that bad... It was a 14 mile hike. Get to Charlie's Bunion early! Listen carefully while at Charlie's Bunion, you may hear some wolves!!
