Grand Teton National Park is a United States National Park located in northwestern Wyoming, south of Yellowstone National Park. The park is named after the Grand Teton, which, at 13,770 feet (4,197 m), is the tallest mountain in the Teton Range. The name "Tetons" originally was intended to describe several hills near the town of Arco, Idaho. They were named by a French trapper who thought that they resembled the female body. (Ergo tétons, the French word for "nipples" or "teats".) Many years later the name was mistakenly applied to the mountains of present day Grand Teton National Park due to the poor map-making and map-reading standards of the time.

Wonderful but demanding day hike to Surprise Lake and Amphitheater Lake in the Grand Teton National Park. The reward for the struggels of climbing up the mountains of grand teton are beautiful alpine lakes and a view of the grand teton glacier.
Hiked the Grand Teton Loop trail from Death Canyon trail head to Jenny Lake trail head - Beautiful hike! Spent 3 nights on the trail at Death Canyon, Alaska Basin and South Fork of Cascade Canyon. Weather was excellent for us. Most magnificent view was approaching Hurricane Pass from Alaska Basin and seeing the Tetons and valley beneath!
Half day hike around Two Ocean Lake in Grand Teton National Park. For the best views of the lake don't miss to climb up on grand viewpoint mountain. Steep, nut really worth the struggles.
A day hike with the wife around Jenny Lake in Grand Tetons National Park. We hit up Moose Ponds, Hidden Falls, Inspiration Point, and Cascade Canyon.
Twelve of us rode the tram from Teton Village to the 10,446' summit to hike to Marion Lake. Shortly after the start of the return to the tram, I turned left (east) to hike down the mountain through Granite Canyon, emerging at the Granite Canyon Parking Area in Grand Teton National Park.
Cascade Canyon lies between the Cathedral Group (Teewinot Mountain, Mount Owen, and the Grand Teton) to the south and the St. John Group (Symmetry Spire, Rock of Ages, etc.) to the north. It is one of the most spectacular canyons in the Teton Range. To find the Cascade Canyon Trail, go to the South Jenny Lake Area on the Teton Park Road.
