This is one of the most scenic trails in the North Cascade. Among the few trails that get inside of North Cascade National Park, this is the only one that starts within the national park. The trail is about 8 miles round trip to the Cascade Pass and additional 4 miles to Sahale Arm.

Beautiful lake. Great hike on a hot day - the trail is in the forest.

This is a very popular hike on the mountain loop highway outside of Granite Falls Wa. Decided to try it out and found a gem of a lake. This area was very photogenic with various terrain and landscapes to view. The hike takes you up to Goat Lake which guides you along a trail that follows elliot creek. The mountain peak in many of the pictures is Cadet Peak. The trails ends at...

Hiked up to the summit on Saturday Aug. 21,2010. This hike is very challenging. It has a long approach and a big surprise toward the summit. Most of the hiking books label this as a class 2/3 scramble. It definitely has this. What was not mentioned, is that the scramble takes a while to accomplish. For our group going up it took over 45 minutes to complete this portion of the trail. While we were at...

July 3, 2011.  Arrived at the Trailhead at 9:00 AM and began hike at 9:10 AM. We arrived at the lake at 11:10 AM.  On the way we saw 3 deer on the trail, crossed several creeks, and had nice views of Garland Peak and Devils Smoke Stack.  We took a few pictures and ate lunch before heading back.  We left the lake at 12 Noon and arrived back at the trailhead at...

Blanca Lake is an absolute must-do for any able bodied hikers who can handle a 1000' per mile grade.  You are given a very short intro stroll through the thick Trailhead woods before kicking into 1.5 hours of merciless switchbacks through sporadic giant Redwoods mixed with Larch and Douglas Fir and all other forms of Northwest greenery, until you pop out above 4000' to see north slopes of berry fields (not sure...
