Community Trips
Hoodoos, peaceful woods, and a quiet river, at least when we were there. Besides rocky cliffs and spires and tree species like Douglas fir usually found far to the north, the area hosts Mexican grey wolves, cougar, and Gila trout. Signs of wildfire are everywhere, mostly just charred downed logs. Taking it easy we spread this one over five days.

"The Catwalk" is built on the vestigial hardware from the pipes that provided water for the early mining operations near this volcanic canyon. It's now a walkway maintained by the forest service as an interesting historical site.

Family and friends went on a two day hike in the Gila Wilderness, New Mexico. We crossed the ankle-deep Middle Fork of the Gila River numerous times and we soaked in the Jordan Hot Spring.
