Two times we ended up on the wrong trail and had to double back. The hike was challenging for us novice backpackers, but the campsite (site #5) was wonderful.

Superior hiking trails were closed for hunting season. A DNR officer pointed us in the direction of this state park for backpacking.
Maenard and I did an 8 mile hike. 3 inches of snow on the ground and zero people today. Just what I needed after being kept out of the woods for 2 weeks by deer hunting.
