Geneve is beautiful. And flat compared to Lausanne. We were on the last day of Fetes de Geneve, which was not spectacular but rather crowded. The parks in Geneve are awesome.

I made the small mistake of trying to visit Switzerland in December. It was very cold. The first thing I did when I got off the plane was go straight to the shopping district to buy some more clothes (knit hat). Unfortunately, the large fountain was off due to wind and the cold temperatures.

We walked around Geneva for a couple of hours. We started along the water but that didn't last very long because it was so cold, so then we walked down some pedestrian streets, saw a live nativity scene (2 goats were fighting, not very Christmas-like), and walked up a hill where we walked into a beautiful old church.

After a few hours were were cold enough and headed back to the train station because we didn't want to miss our train to Interlaken.

I hope to come back some other time of year when I can enjoy the area more.
