I chained together a series of small loops in the Western Section of Eno River State Park, northwest of Durham, North Carolina. This is a great park for hiking -- lots of trails along creeks and the Eno River. Scenic even after the leaves have fallen; I imagine it's spectacular at peak season, but also pretty crowded. Trip write-up at Two-Heel Drive.
Beth, Reilly, Griffin and I took a very nice hike Saturday to the Eno Rock Quarry. It was a very nice hike for a 3 year old and 4 month old and the quarry water was crystal clear.

Nice little hike on a slightly chilly day.

We hiked down to Fews Ford from the parking lot and took Buckquarter Creek Trail going counterclockwise. At the split, we took Ridge Trail up to where it crosses Buckquarter Creek. There is no...
Paved and single-track around Eno River. Horrible conditions for mountain biking. Only good for hiking.
Checked out river. Water is very low -- would require frequent portage.
