Six participants in the Road Scholar (formerly Elderhostel) program entitled "Alaska's National Parks: From the Mountains to the Sea" undertook this strenuous optional hike. The starting point is near the beginning of the Horseshoe Lake Trail.
This short guided walk was part of the Road Scholar (formerly Elderlyhostel) "Alaska's National Parks: From the Mountains to the Sea" program. It was an easy walk. Horseshoe Lake is quite interesting because it has an extensive system of dams that were constructed by beavers. There are at least 3 levels of dams on the outflow of the lake.
