Salt Marsh Trip 2 Delaware Seashore State Park
by kiteman on Aug 06, 2008
Dewey Beach/Bethany Beach, Delaware, United States
4.8 miles
Delaware Seashore State Park Salt Marsh.  Accessed via Savage Ditch Road just north of Indian River Inlet.  This was our second trip and we still have not covered all the meandering waterways thru the Marsh.  A great place to watch birds and see turtles, fish and crabs swimming in the clear waters.  There is still more for us to explore.

Salt Marsh June 2009 Delaware, USA

Indian River Area, Delaware, United States
5.2 miles
Another trip to the Salt Marsh just north of the Indian River Inlet in coastal Delaware...nesting ground for many water birds.  High tide a must but with all the rain this year the Marsh is flooded well over the grasses giving you access to many new areas.  Gulls are sitting on nests that are actually floating. The din of the birds is incredible!  If you are afraid of birds...do not go here!...

The trail is well-maintained, although sandy in a few spots.  The boardwalk areas are very nice.
