A fun ride that begins at the trail head near the top of the hill on the Del Valle access road. This ride is a mix of fire road and singletrack. Drop down to the lake shore then head northwest along the shore line, taking the little off-shoot singletrack options all the way to the dam. Turn around and backtrack.
One of my favorite summer rituals -- a nice little hike in the morning with the wife and dog -- before work. From the Del Valle staging area at the end of Arroyo Rd. in Livermore, just past the Wente winery.Climb up to the ridge overlooking the lake. Down the other side to the lake shore, then back up to the ridge top. Drop back down to the staging area. 3 miles, 850'...
Okay, so I'm a couple months late in posting this one. The first couple miles from the east end of the Ohlone Wilderness Trail are a real workout. I've come to refer to it as the Zombie Deer Trail because of the deer carcass that always seems to be in a different location every time I see it. Truth be told I think I'd rather deal with zombies than what I really...
We decided to go sun bathing while riding around these great little lake in the middle of no place. Had to pick up hats at the gift shop. Sun was out bright.... Sooooo "Do you like My NEW HAT ?" Was 80 deg as we were heading home. Seemed like 70 when we got on the boat. With the wind on the body it was a perfect weather day. We had a...
A wonderful day off work spent cruising around Del Valle looking for trout or stripers. Didn't have any luck fishing but we had a great time.We spotted an Osprey and perhaps a Bald Eagle, a bit far away but looked like it had a white head. Lots of mergansers were fishing the lake too. The wind kicked up in the afternoon which made for some good surfing on the way back to...
Valley Spokesmen club ride on the fire roads and trails along the north shore of Lake Del Valle south of Livermore.
This was an Accidental Find. What a Great Day we had.Day started out with, let's check out this area I found on Everytrail.com. Back to work tomorrow after all.You can rent a Motor boat for 33 dollars for 2 hrs. As you can see, that was just right for a loop around the lake. It was a Perfect weather day, not Hot or Cold on the lake. What a little piece of heaven just...
In practicing for the grand trip from Sunol to Del Valle, my son and I went for a hike with our dog. I was trying to go at least 8 miles, but only hit 5 miles. This was probably because my son's feet were hurting... we were breaking in his new boots. It was fun just going off into different directions. He's the one who picked the route.
A short family hike in DelValle Regional Park on a windy afternoon...We decided to spend the day in DelValle. Just relaxing by the water, piknicking, and possibly hiking a bit.We ended up renting a boat and enjoying the lake first, fishing a bit before lunch and then hiking. We took the trail that hugs the lake before taking the first uphill trail ("hetch hetchy trail"). The hills were very dry but the wind...
Old school tiger-striped Fisher Mt Tam ride at Del Valle. From the top of the hill on Mines Rd., down to the lake, then singletrack and fire road north to the dam. Ran into BTCEB guys on a group ride. Turn around and back track.
