Spring hike up Telescope peak. Started at Throndike because road up to Mahogany Flat was closed due to snow. Put on crampons for the final 2 miles due to snow and ice. Got to the summit for a wonderful view of the Sierras, White Mountains, Badwater and Mt Charleston (near Las Vegas).Pretty chilly at the top, 29 degreees and wind gusting to 40mph.
Started from Panamint Springs, climbed up Towne Pass (elev:4963ft), decended down to Stove Pipe Wells (elev: 0.0ft) in Death Valley. And then came back on the same route in one day. It was straneous but definitely rewarding..
Super quick and easy desert peak. This track starts at the turnoff from pavement. Drive the dirt road as far as you can (4WD needed for last ~1/2 mile. If too steep for your vehicle just park where it's convenient and walk it). Park and walk the ridge to the summit. Additional PhotosTrip Report
Hiked over Towne Peak to the SA-16 Albatross.
Telescope and Bennett Peaks - Death Valley National Park

13.9 miles
A hike up Death Valley NP's highest point, with a side trip up Bennett Peak on the descent. With a 4WD not a rental Cobalt you could shave a couple miles off this trail by starting from Mahogany Flats, instead of 1 mile and 1,000 ft short.
